This month's local Blogger Bash, tonight at 6 PM at The Fieldhouse in CampusTown, attracted the cream of the crop of Peoria area bloggers.

Warned that we were wild and crazy, the wait staff smiled as our numbers swelled. As the crowd burgeoned almost to the point of being unmanageable, we moved the picnic tables into a square. Seated inside and outside the square, and along its fringes, we were able to talk and laugh and bother each other easily.

An early topic of conversation was the potential of The Peoria Spy to be a unique node of crowd-sourced customer reviews of Peoria businesses and brazen gossip about local ne'er-do-wells.

Somebody sighed, "I haven't blogged in about 2 weeks."

I replied, "I published only 2 posts so far in June. I'm outside a lot in the summer."

I heard a few people laugh at my statement.

What a popular event!

Billy Dennis aka Peoria Pundit, CEO of Tell Peoria Blog Network, organized the Blogger Bash and the promise of his charismatic presence drew them in.

You should have seen all the Central Illinois social networkers. If you weren't there, either your blog is in bad shape, you aren't hip enough to know about our inner circle, or you're being shunned by us.

No matter, here are some photos to help ease you into the event. Great food, tall PBRs, friendly service -- a perfect day to be a blogger.

I would just like to state on the record that I did not imbibe in Pabst Blue Ribbon.

I have it on good authority that PBR tastes like pee filtered though unwashed sweat socks.

Yeah, Did was laid off when PBR moved the Peoria Heights jobs out of town.

I worked at the Pabst Grits Mill down by the river (not the more well-known bottling plant in Peoria Heights) when I was a lad attending college. The tall PBRs were just $2.00 each. I had two of them.
